Countless images and design proposals help to set the tone for set design. Here is an early 2017 proposal for the Tropicana scene by set designer Efren Delgadillo, Jr.

Some of the photographic influence that went into creating the set and primary props are included in Efren’s  tumblr of images that helped to set the tone of the colors and styles seen throughout the show.

Part of the challenge with set design for devised theatre is that since the content of the show is not locked in until close to the beginning of opening night, the designers have to be ready to adapt their designs (and costumes, props, songs, etc.) up to the last minute.
