PUNCHKAPOW

A play about fantasy violence and how tempting it can be

Inspired by action movies, comic books, anime and video games, Punchkapow is a sweaty, hilarious and unique look at powerless people in search of their superpower. Everyday life, it often seems, is filled with a niggling tedium, a lack of clear rules and with games of personal negotiation and compromise. In a fantasy world, simplicity reigns, good and evil are clearly defined and at the end of the day, justice wins out… every time. TSunPCo explores how individuals wrap themselves in a cocoon of disillusion and fantastic distraction, taking a leap from the mundane to the imagined and then slipping, joyfully, into the violent. Punchkapow promises stunning physical acting and kickass fights as two dudes explore their brutal relationship in a world of ninjas, villains and epic battles large and small.
