Responses to Henry IV"The most ambitious production by Shakespeare in Clark Park that I've seen in its 10 years of performances, and the most successful. . . . A forceful and highly engaging telling of the young playboy prince's tale. . . ." Read more about Henry IV in Philly Art Blog

Artist's Statement
This multi-pronged event included a pre-show pub experience and a professionally acted, five-night run of Henry IV that featured a 30-minute battle/coronation scene performed by nearly 100 volunteer community members. The production, which bridged community engagement and spectacle, attracted over 5000 audience members to Clark Park for an unprecedented Shakespeare event. A critical, artistic, and popular success, the project relied on the company’s administrative and organizational skills, asked that we devise an original work (in this case, within the context of an existing script), and manifested our desire to build connection and community. Organizationally, HENRY IV enriched and extended Team Sunshine’s audience and raised the company’s public profile, providing a deeply moving and special experience for the artists and volunteers involved.
